Last week on Friday we were invited to attend an opening of the Scarborough MP’s new offices. We were invited to represent the local independently run chiropractic businesses in the community that serve the local areas residents. MP Liza Harvey and the WA Premier Colin Barnett officially opened the new offices and welcomed the chiropractic and other health providers into the community and congratulated us on our work.
“Engaging with local small business is an important part of my role as a member of the State Government. Small businesses like Complete Care Chiropractic are the backbone of the economy and it is vital that their contribution to the local community is valued and recognised by the State.”Liza Harvey Mp for Scarborough.
I'd like to thank all of the people that have helped to get my profession where it is today, at the forefront of primary health. We are moving into a new era of medicine and with it comes diversity and a larger part for the non-invasive preventative disciplines like chiropractic. The government recently brought in the chronic medical condition enhanced primary care plans between GP's and allied health providers. This takes into perspective how far the chiropractic profession has moved ahead since its early start in 1895 in the Northern hemisphere.
"Its great to be able to see so many improvements in peoples lives everyday. Okay chiropractic helps with back pain and neck pain and headaches, but i think more and more people are understanding its other benefits. These include improved wellness, posture, vitality and spinal function. It's worth giving alternative medicine a try before surgery in certain circumstances. I believe that there are certainly times when we need to look at getting laminectomies and facet joint injections for example. I believe that we do need keyhole surgery for shoulders and knees and other procedures when necessary. All i'm saying is that it may be too often that non-invasive treatment is overlooked and we go to surgery too early before giving it a try. Surgery will always be there and as long as each case is professionaly looked at i'm sure more people could avoid it with alternative therapy like chiro or physio".
